Our Story (by Head Coach Dan Simms)
Hello there, I’m Dan Simms, the head coach behind Remote Writer Accelerator.
My journey into the world of freelance writing began not so long ago when I found myself trapped in the quicksand of a real estate job that was eating away at my joy.
Like many, I stumbled through the labyrinth of online money-making schemes – from online sales to dropshipping – only to discover they led to dead ends.
It was an algorithm, of all things, that pointed me toward the path I was destined to walk. YouTube, with its inscrutable wisdom, introduced me to freelance writing. As if by magic, the pieces started to fit together. I shut down all the ventures that had once seemed promising but were going nowhere. With newfound focus, I plunged into the freelance writing waters.
To my astonishment, success was immediate. Within a week, I had landed my first client. By the end of the day, I had completed my first assignment and was already on to my second. That week, I earned my first $100, and I was just getting started. I dove headlong into the industry, soaking up knowledge and refining my approach to client acquisition. The hard work paid off: $1,000 in the first month, then an additional $2,500, and by the third month, I was at $5,000. In just 90 days, with no prior experience, I had earned nearly $10,000.
I often ask people, “What would you do with an extra $10,000 in the next three months?” But more crucially, “What if it was $10,000 every month?” This isn’t just about the money; it’s about what it represents – freedom, opportunity, and the ability to craft a life that aligns with your deepest desires.
My own life is a testament to this transformation. From those early days, I’ve scaled the heights to a point where I now work around 25 hours a week and earn over $300K a year. The constant search for new clients, the grind of endless work – those are relics of the past. Now, my life is about balance and fulfillment.
Having left the real estate world behind, I’ve constructed an ideal lifestyle where I’m no longer bound by the nine-to-five. My days are spent traversing the globe with my wife, indulging in the serenity of woodworking, or enjoying impromptu hikes with my dog. Financial worries have become a distant memory.
